Roof Control Unit Mercedes SL (R129) SmartTop STAXMZ1

This unique comfort controller can be installed by anyone with the help of our detailed installation manual. Installation requires little electronic skills and only standard tools. No soldering! The module comes with all wires and parts needed. No need for extra key fobs. All remote features are activated with the original key remote. Factory remote (IR or RF variant) option needs to be present for remote features to work.

The control unit was designed by our certified engineer, having years of experience on Porsche and Mercedes Benz vehicle electronics. It was developed according to all European and American (CE, FCC) directives and constitutes a state-of-the-art electronic onboard control unit. Over-voltage protection, reverse polarity protection, safety shut-off and absolutely minimal standby power drain can be taken for granted.

* Ultra-low power standby mode (less than 0.1mA).
* InstallAID™ LED shows correct installation and status.

Product Features:

* Comfort soft top control while driving: Within a programmable speed limit (0-60 km/h / 0-40 mph) the top can be operated automatically with a short push of the open or close button.

* Remote control: One-Touch operation of convertible top and windows with the original remote.

* Deluxe Mode allows starting engine during remote top operation. Also allows turning the engine off, getting out and locking the doors, while the top is still closing.

* User programmable: All features can be individually enabled or disabled. Some also allow different personal preferences to be set. All settings are retained even if the car battery is disconnected.

* Shop/Diagnose mode: If activated the smartTOP is completely passive, as if it was not installed at all. It becomes invisible to diagnostic tools.

* Future-proof investment: Should new features become available for this module, it can be updated easily and at very low cost.

Important compatibility notes: Our module is generally compatible to all SL R129 models, but on the earliest models (1990-1992) which use a Convertible Top Controller made by "Becker" (uses 3 plugs instead of the later version which uses only 2) there are some limitations:

* Top can be used while driving as described above, but max. speed is 30km/h (20mph), programmable in 6 steps of 5km/h.
* Remote operation as described above but there may be a 8-10 sec. delay before the top starts moving. This also makes the "Deluxe" Mode appear to not work correctly when turning off the ignition.
* On some models where the IR remote does not transmit a continuous signal, the key (turn and hold) can be used in the driver's side door lock instead.

MERCEDES BENZ E Class Convertible

Smart top Control Unit Audi A3/A4 Convertible and TT Roadster.

Comfort soft top control while driving: Within a programmable speed limit (A4: up to 40km/h / 25mph, TT and A3: up to 60km/h / 38mph) the roof can be operated automatically with a short push of the open or close button.

Remote roof control: One-Touch operation of roof and windows with the original remote. Choose if windows should be up or down (A4). On the TT the windows always roll up at the end of the top operation cycle.

Deluxe Mode allows starting engine during remote roof operation. Also allows turning the engine off, getting out and locking the doors, while the top is still closing.

For extra safety and visibility: Hazard Lights flash during remote roof operation (if desired).

Chirp on lock/unlock: If activated, the horn will give brief "chirp"signals when locking/unlocking the car.
